Our Leathers

50km east of Verona on the road to Venice lies the small industrial town of Arzignano.  Whilst it may not be as well-known as its Shakespearian neighbours, Arzignano is justifiably proud of its leather tanning heritage and specifically its reputation for producing the finest furniture leathers in the world.  It is here that we source all our leather hides.

We only select full Top Grain hides of exceptions quality from two particular tanneries.  No bottom splits, composites or synthetic hides are used in Thomas Lloyd furniture.

We offer five leather types to choose from.  For each sofa design we have chosen one or more leather types that we consider to be the best match for that particular design.  Alternative leathers types can be selected as a bespoke order. Please note bespoke orders are not covered by our 21 day money back return guarantee.

If you want to order one of our models in a leather type not offered online please call our sales team on 01443 771333 who will be happy to help you with a bespoke order.

Antique

A robust, classic leather synonymous with Gentlemen’s Clubs and Grand Hotels.  Once upholstered, our antique leather is rubbed back and resealed in specific areas to create an aged, antique appearance.  The antique leather will continue to develop its aged patina over time.

Available in five colours.

Our antique leather is best suited to traditional, deep buttoned, models such as our Chesterfield, Regent, Senator and Victoria designs.

Vintage

Less formal than the antique, our vintage leather lends a softer, matt appearance to classic pieces.  Each hide displays the natural blemishes and inherent scars of the animal as well as tonal shade variations.  This retro leather has a waxy, distressed appearance and lightens in colour in areas where stretched in upholstery and use.

Vintage is available in four colours.

Our vintage leather is best suited to larger designs such as the Grand Chesterfield, Aspen and Burlington.

Blake

Blake is a lightly-buffed, oiled leather with a natural, distressed appearance.  This luxurious, pure aniline leather is produced on top quality hides and has a nappa handle.  Scars and marks will be visible, which only enhance its overall natural appearance.

Blake is currently available in one colour and we think it really suites our Henry.
